A Lot Like Home (ALLH) is a global 501 (c) (3) Non - Profit Organization serving as a liaison & helper between college students, their expenses & their dream of degree completion.
Assisting 1st Generational & Low Income Students, who are physically detached from everything familiar to them and are financially facing collegiate expenses is our mission.
ALLH has two phases; 1) Financial & 2) Surrogate Hosting.
ALLH thrives on mentally, physically, financially & spiritually supporting students globally. To demonstrate A Like Home support system, as if from A Distant Relative, Is the Impact that makes a Massive Difference in the life of our students.
Kindness & generosity speaks volumes. They send a message of community! Benevolence comes from the heart, not necessarily from your biological family. And ALLH is The Extended Family, helping our students cross their finish line in Victory!
I am the Visionary of ALLH, my name is Tracy Meadows Ford. A native of Alabama & the wife of Pastor Edwin E. Ford of Savannah, GA. I've been the Youth Minister at Crossroads For Life Ministries for over 25 years. The Proud Mother of four & one grandchild. In 2016, our "One & Only" Son, a student - athlete, went to college seven hours away. The distance & the lack of finances made the transition very challenging for our family. Thus, the seed of A Lot Like Home was placed in my heart.
We understand that every eaglet must leave the nest & that there are levels of maturity & adaptation. Sometimes, anxiety, depression, loneliness, loss of focus & other emotions creep in. But ALLH aims to be a resource of Hope & Peace, while transitioning & pursuing higher education.
